Hi, I’m Jo and we’re in this TOGETHER
My home is in Manchester, UK where I work face-to-face with clients and now with the beauty of the internet and being online, I can work with you anywhere in the world!
Konenki Health came from my passion for wanting to understand more about how the correct nutrition and exercise are essential for supporting the body through the peri – meno and post-menopause journey.
It brings me happiness and joy to be able to work with and support other women on this journey. I want others not to fear this time but to embrace it, & to understand why it is so very important to focus on themselves now and give something back to their own health for their future years ahead.
As Women, we are all in this together and that’s the sense that women do get when they join Konenki Health and allow me to work with them, we are all on this journey and by sharing experiences and supporting each other through it we don’t feel so isolated or alone with our journey.
I understand as women we are also all unique and therefore by listening and learning about each client, I deliver exercise & nutrition that fits in with their routines and works to help break down any barriers around lack of time, enjoyment or fulfilment. The outcome is sustainable lifestyle changes that will enable you to shine from the inside out
Get to know me
I’m on my own perimenopause journey. I am a busy working mum yet I have always had the energy and found the time for exercise and healthy eating habits. However, three years ago, everything changed. I became exhausted, drained, and struggled with sleep disturbances, leaving me fatigued during the day. I even experienced heart palpitations, night sweats, joint pains, and insomnia. It was a scary time, and I had no idea what was happening to me.
After becoming a certified personal trainer and studying living nutrition, I recognised my perimenopause symptoms. Given my family’s breast cancer history, I chose a natural approach and further educated myself on fitness and menopause nutrition. Today, I’m peri meno symptom-free and empowered with the knowledge to manage any challenges.
I’ve embraced the Japanese word for menopause, “KonenKi,” which means renewal of years and energy. It’s a powerful and positive way to describe this journey in a woman’s life.
Every woman’s experience with perimenopause can be different, but we all have the choice to prepare ourselves and manage it. Making the right lifestyle changes and prioritizing our health will prepare us for the years ahead.
